A few more words about this Video

In this video, Mr. Ajay Saraswat, an instructor at JBS Academy Private Limited talks at length about Fundamental Concept of Logistics. The origin of the word “Logistics” comes from Greek and Latin word “Logisticos” And “Logisticas” respectively which implies that it is the science of computing and calculating.

In any enterprise there are two major parameters namely production and consumption. It is not necessary that both of them are at one place and hence if production and consumption are at different places there is movement, and when there is movement there is transportation. That is the utility which is implied as far as Logistics is concerned. Another parameter is that, it is not necessary that goods are produced and consumed at the same time, which means there is need for storage, hence there is time utility attached to the value chain.

Mr. Saraswat further explains the complete journey of Logistics. He started from the time when no money transaction was not there to how the Trade was started. Finally, he takes us to the time of world war - I, with very good example of Napolean he explains the importance of Logistics. Watch the video till the end, to understand how the word changes with the ‘Logistics Evolution’ to ‘Revolution Journey’.
