A few more words about this course
Bill of lading is a mandatory document of carriage. The same is used for sea transportation. In this programme you will learn how to prepare a Bill of Lading and how to fill the individual sections. The document has conditions attached to it. There is a separate file giving the terms and conditions which would be applicable to the carrier and shipper/consignee.
It is a Legal document between the Shipper of goods and the Carrier, and details the type, quantity, and destination of the goods being carried. The Bill of Lading also serves as a receipt of shipment when the goods are delivered at the predetermined destination.
International carriage is governed by established conventions. A separate file explaining the Hague Visby Rules is also enclosed. At the end of the programme participant will be in a position to prepare Bill of lading as well as understand the conditions attached to the document and the conventions applicable.
