Section 146 of the Customs Act provides that Custom Brokers in India shall be licensed. It further defines very clearly. What are the areas where the Customs Broker can work? It also States over there those regulations would be made under the Act to govern the issuance of the license validity of the license operation of the licensing and all the related parameters and factors which go with the issuance of a license under this. The Custom Broker Licensing regulations are periodically issued. What we are covered with presently is the Customs Broker licensing regulations of 2018. This Regulation need to understood clearly and followed vigilantly as they directly govern the functioning, eligibility, membership to the association, appointment and removal of the Custom Brokers in India. These also discuss the examination syllabus and procedure which each aspiring applicant has to qualify. Important regulations and definitions will be taught in-depth and must be kept in mind as the legal aspect behind common parlance is elucidated upon.
